Aluminium prices softened by 0.62 per cent to Rs 129.15 per kg in futures market today as speculators reduced exposure amid sluggish demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in December declined by 80 paise, or 0.62 per cent, to Rs 129.15 per kg in a business turnover of 2,272 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in January was trading lower by 60 paise, or 0.46 per cent, to Rs 130.05 per kg in 125 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by participants owing to slackened demand from consuming industries in the physical market mainly influenced aluminium prices at futures trade.
