Cardamom futures traded 2.99 per cent lower at Rs 579.90 per kg today as traders cut down their bets amid easing demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in February declined by Rs 17.90 or 2.99 per cent to Rs 579.90 per kg, in a business turnover of just two lots.
Likewise, the spice for delivery in March weakened by Rs 7.60 or 1.05 per cent to Rs 712.30 per kg in 132 lots.

Traders said offloading of positions by participants amid sluggish demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position on higher supplies from producing belts mainly led to decline in cardamom prices at futures trade.
Besides, sentiment weakened further as the traders booked profits at the prevailing levels, they said.
