Press Trust of India New Delhi
Chana prices were down by 0.14 per cent to Rs 4,855 per quintal in futures trading today as participants trimmed their positions, triggered by easing demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in April declined Rs 7, or 0.14 per cent to Rs 4,855 per quintal with an open interest of 8,400 lots.

Likewise, the commodity for delivery in far-month May weakened by Rs 4, or 0.08 per cent to Rs 4,880 per quintal in 43,430 lots.

Analysts attributed the fall in chana prices at futures trade to low demand in the spot market against ample stocks on higher supplies from producing regions.
