Copper prices drifted lower by 0.15 per cent to Rs 445.50 per kg in futures trade today as participants reduced exposure amid sluggish demand from consuming industries at the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in December declined by 65 paise, or 0.15 per cent to Rs 445.50 per kg in a business turnover of 30 lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in November contracts shed 45 paise, or 0.10 per cent to Rs 439.55 per kg in 395 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by traders owing to slackened demand from consuming industries in the physical market, mainly influenced copper prices at futures trade.
