Copper prices moved down by 0.65 per cent to Rs 445.35 per kg in futures trading today on lower exposure amid subdued demand at the domestic spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in February fell by Rs 2.90, or 0.65 per cent, to Rs 445.35 per kg in a business turnover of 1,297 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in April contracts was trading lower by Rs 2.80, or 0.62 per cent, to Rs 449.05 per kg in 9 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by participants due to slackened demand from consuming industries in the physical market and a weak trend overseas influenced copper prices in futures trade.
