Jeera prices drifted lower by 3.45 per cent to Rs 19,265 per quintal in futures market today as traders cut down their positions amid fall in demand at the spot market.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in October fell by Rs 690, or 3.45 per cent, to Rs 19,265 per quintal, with an open interest of 8,646 lots.

Likewise, the spice for delivery in September was trading lower by Rs 210, or 1.06 per cent, to Rs 19,660 per quintal in 12,426 lots.
