Mentha oil futures traded lower by 0.09 per cent to Rs 1,002.40 per kg today as speculators trimmed their positions, driven by tepid demand from consuming industries at the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in April shed 90 paise, or 0.09 per cent, to Rs 1,002.40 per kg, in a business turnover of 71 lots.

On similar lines, the oil for delivery in March traded lower by 50 paise, or 0.05 per cent, to Rs 992 per kg in 24 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by participants amid low demand from consuming industries in spot market against sufficient stocks position, mainly influenced mentha oil prices at futures trade.
