Mentha oil prices were down 0.12 per cent to Rs 1,051 per kg in futures trading today as traders trimmed their positions, driven by lower demand from consuming industries at the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in February month moved down by Rs 1.30, or 0.12 per cent to Rs 1,051 per kg in business turnover of 4 lots.

On similar lines, the oil for delivery in January contracts was trading lower by 60 paise, or 0.06 per cent to Rs 1,044.60 per kg in 116 lots.

Analysts said trimming of positions by participants due to subdued demand from consuming industries in spot market against adequate stocks position, mainly led to decline in mentha oil prices at futures trade.
