Muted demand drags down mentha oil futures by 0.21%

Amid sluggish domestic demand and adequate stocks on higher supplies from producing belts, mentha oil traded lower by 0.21 per cent to Rs 902 per kg in futures trade today.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in January month declined by Rs 1.90, or 0.21 per cent to Rs 902 per kg in business turnover of 380 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in February contracts traded lower by Rs 1.80, or 0.20 per cent to Rs 914 per kg in 251 lots.

Analysts said besides subdued demand from consuming industries in the physical market, adequate stocks on higher supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh, mainly kept mentha oil prices lower at the futures trade.
