Nickel prices declined by 0.25 per cent to Rs 891.90 per kg in futures trading today as speculators reduced exposure amid easing demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, nickel for delivery in March month fell by Rs 2.20, or 0.25 per cent to Rs 891.90 per kg in business turnover of 1161 lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in far-month April contracts shed Rs 2, or 0.22 per cent to Rs 895.80 per kg in 53 lots.

Market analysts said offloading of positions by participants owing to slackened demand from alloy-makers in the physical market, weighed on nickel futures.
