Refined soya oil prices softened by 0.15 per cent to Rs 688.60 per 10 kg in futures trade today as participants reduced their exposure amid easing demand in the spot market against adequate stocks.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in far-month January 2017 fell by Rs 1.05, or 0.15 per cent, to Rs 688.60 per 10 kg with an open interest of 25,630 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in December contracts traded lower by 95 paise, or 0.14 per cent, to Rs 688.65 per 10 kg in 48,150 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by traders owing to slackened demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position mainly led to the decline in refined soya oil prices at futures trade.
