Refined soya oil prices softened by 0.29 per cent to Rs 787.10 per 10 kg in futures trade today as speculators pared their positions, tracking a weak trend at the spot market on subdued demand.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in March month shed Rs 2.30, or 0.29 per cent to Rs 787.10 per 10 kg with an open interest of 24,330 lots.

In similar fashion, the oil for delivery in April contracts were trading lower by Rs 2.25, or 0.28 per cent to Rs 791.80 per 10 kg in 42,650 lots.

Analysts said cutting down of positions by participants due to sluggish demand in the physical market against ample stocks position, mainly led to decline in refined soya oil prices at futures trade.
