Amid easing demand at domestic spot market and higher supplies from producing regions, refined soya oil prices were down 0.53 per cent to Rs 679.10 per 10 kg in futures trade today as traders trimmed positions.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in far-month June fell by Rs 3.65 or 0.53 per cent to RS 679.10 per 10 kg with an open interest of 68,450 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in May contracts moved down by Rs 2.75 or 0.41 per cent to Rs 673.40 per 10 kg in 68,100 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by traders amid decline in demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position mainly led to the fall in refined soya oil prices at futures trade.
