Press Trust of India New Delhi
Mentha oil prices softened by 0.11 per cent to Rs 886 per kg in futures trading today as speculators trimmed positions amid sluggish demand from consuming industries at the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in July declined by a Re, or 0.11 per cent, to Rs 886 per kg, in a business turnover of 153 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in August shed 50 paise, or 0.06 per cent, to Rs 898 per kg in 15 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by participants due to tepid demand from consuming industries in the spot market against ample stocks position on higher supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh mainly led to the decline in mentha oil prices in futures trade.
