A local court will pronounce its order on June 5 on a plea seeking issuance of arrest warrants against five persons accused of gangraping a 30-year-old woman during the riots here in 2013.
Senior lawyer Vrinda Grover argued that the warrants against the accused should be issued as the victim's statement was already recorded in the court.
The proceedings were recorded in camera.
Grover also demanded that the case be sent to a sessions court for trial.
Chief Judicial Magistrate Narender Kumar fixed June 5 for the order in the case.
On January 9, the court had rejected the closure report of SIT in which it had given a clean chit to the five accused. The order had come after the victim moved the court challenging the closure report of SIT. She had told the court that she had recorded her statement before woman magistrate under section of 164 CRPC, saying that she was raped by five people in Phugana village.
More than 60 people were killed and 40,000 displaced during the riots in Muzaffarnagar district and its adjoining areas in September 2013.
A total of seven gang-rape cases, including six in Phugana village and one in Lank village, were registered against 27 people.
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the riots had found the involvement of 25 people in six gang-rape cases.
