Director Antoine Fuqua says film fans, who are trying to turn "The Magnificent Seven" remake into an important film about Hollywood diversity will be disappointed.
The filmmaker has reteamed with his "Training Day" leading man Denzel Washington for the new version of John Sturges' classic 1960 western, and he insists he is not trying to make a statement with his cast of African-Americans, Latinos and Asians, reported BBC.
"We don't talk about it because you guys (in the media) talk about it. My idea was: Denzel Washington walks into a room and the room stops, Clint Eastwood walks into a room and the room stops. Is it because of the gunslinger or because of the colour of his skin? So we let the audience decide," Antoine said.
Washington has previously worked with Fuqua on "The Equalizer".
