My role in 'SSTG' reminded me of dad's 'Satyakam': Sunny Deol

Actor Sunny Deol says his character in upcoming film "Singh Saab The Great" (SSTG) reminded him of his father Dharmendra's role in Hrishikesh Mukherjee's "Satyakam"

Sunny, 56, who is playing an honest collector in Anil Sharma directed film, however denied that the movie has got any similarity with 1962 film.

"I have always played characters I have believed in. I can't fake emotions. When Anil narrated the subject to me, my character reminded me of the role that my father had done in Satyakam.

"However, 'Singh Sahab the Great' has no connection with Satyakam. It is a completely different film. But the character I play is a very powerful one," Sunny said.
 

The actor launched the first look of their upcoming film along with co-stars Amrita Rao, Urvashi Rautela and director here. "Singh Saab The Great" is slated to release November 22, 2013.

Sunny and Sharma in the past have created box office magic with "Gadar: Ek Prem Katha", "The Hero: Love Story of a Spy" and "Apne".

Sharma says his latest outing is a satire with action and a love story.

"Fans kept telling me how desperately they wanted to see Sunny in action again! Well, here we are, with 'Singh Saab The Great'. At the same time, it will be a complete entertainer," Sharma said.
