Mytrah Energy inks MoU with BITS for R&D initiatives

Mytrah Energy today said it has signed an MoU with Birla Institute of Technological Sciences (BITS) Pilani, Hyderabad Campus for collaborative R&D initiatives in the renewable powers sector.

The partnership will focus on areas of product development, research, technical support as well as training and development, the company said in a statement issued here.

As part of this collaboration, joint initiatives pertaining to big data analytics, condition monitoring and foundation analysis for wind turbines would be pursued further.

"Industry-academia collaboration is critical for a technology leap in renewable energy in India. Globally the wind industry has accelerated big data usage and India too needs to move swiftly in the same direction for efficient, cost effective and smarter solution offering," Mytrah Energy Managing Director and CEO Vikram Kailas said.
 

He further said that as part of the company's on-going engagement with universities in India and abroad, its partnership with BITS Pilani is yet another initiative towards leveraging synergies for advancements in the sector.

The MoU includes software and hardware development, faculty consultancy projects and fellowship for students working on the joint projects.

Commenting on the partnership, Prof G Sundar, Director of BITS-Pilani Hyderabad campus said, "we are committed to the development of such a resource pool from budding engineers. The industry-institute partnership in projects at different levels is part of our continuous engagement with the outside world. It provides students and faculty opportunities to work on live projects catering to societal needs.
