NGO to give the people, particuraly children, a feel of Durga Puja celebration and fun fare, kicked off here today.
"At a time of unrest, we are trying to give the people particulary the children a bit of atmosphere to welcome the Durga Puja", Dr Akashitara secretry NOG of Ptirhibi the organisers of North Eastern Expo at the Maniram Dewan trade Centre told reporters here today.
The attraction of the two-week long expo includes competitions for children in drawing, pottery and dancing, and a rock concert for the youth.
Akashitara said there will be a traditional village by the local artisans and importance will be given on traditional food all over the North East with cooks from different states participating.
While international stalls will bet set up with particapation of Bangladesh, Thailand, Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan and Ghana, importance will be given to local entrepreneurs and small scale industries art and craft made by local people specially women, she said.
