North Korea fired a projectile believed to be a ballistic missile from its northwest region, the South Korean army and a media report said.
"The North fired this morning an unidentified projectile from Kusong, North Pyongan province," the South's Joint Chief of Staff said today in a statement without elaborating.
Yonhap news agency said the projectile is believed to be a ballistic missile.
