Dr N S Umrani was today appointed as pro-Vice chancellor of the Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU).
According to the varsity, Governor and Chancellor of Universities, Ch. Vidyasagar Rao today appointed Dr Umrani as the new pro-VC.
In his early career, Dr Umrani had worked in Air India's accounts department and later went on to become a professor and for rhw last ten years, he has been working in the capacity of principal of MES Garware Commerce College here.
The post has been lying vacant for several years.
