The Ramanathapuram District Secretary of the Naam Tamizhar Movement was today arrested for allegedly making a demand for "separate Tamil state" while addressing a public meeting here last month, police said.
Police charged him with making anti-national statements, and registered cases against him under various IPC sections including 153 (wantonly giving provocation with intent to cause riot-if rioting be committed--if not committed and 124(A) (sedition), police officials said.
