A Rs 18-crore spice park would be set up soon in Nadaun sub division of Hamirpur district, Himachal Industries minister Mukesh Agnihotri announced here today.

The spice park would help the people of the district to become self sufficient and open more avenues of jobs to the unemployed youth, the minister said, presiding over Himachal Day function here.

Union Commerce and Industry minister Anand Sharma had announced the Spice Park for Himachal two years ago but the location of the park was decided recently.

Agnihotri said the state government is also pursuing the issue of revival of industrial package till 2020 and the Chief Minister had already met the Prime Minister and Industries Minister in this connection.

Expressing concern over higher prices of the cement in the state as compared to neighbouring states, even though the cement units are located in Himachal, he said the government would ensure that the cement companies cut the prices.
