The Union Health Ministry today deputed a central team comprising clinicians and public health specialists to Kerala to institute surveillance and response measures in the wake of bird flu outbreak in the state.
Union Health Minister J P Nadda has also spoken to Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy over the issue and assured him all assistance to deal with it.
The team which has been deputed will also submit a report.

The Department of Animal Husbandry has instituted a series of measures including culling of birds, safe disposal and sanitisation to mitigate the risk to humans.
