Nagaland CS concerned over poor attendance in govt offices

Nagaland Chief Secretary Banuo Z Jamir has expressed concerns over poor attendance of employees in government offices, an official release said here today.

Despite of repeated instructions, several departments and offices were found empty during the recent rounds of checking, Banuo said while addressing a monthly meeting of Administrative Heads of Department (AHODs) and Heads of Department (HODs) in the secretariat Conference Hall here yesterday.

She said the surprise checking was conducted in the State Secretariat on normal working days and working Saturdays and cited some directorates and big departments which normally should have many visitors in their offices were found deserted with poor attendance of its officials and staff, the release said.
 

Banuo urged the officials to apply their minds to make improvement and maintain regular attendance and directed the departments of Law and Personal and Administrative Reforms to take disciplinary and punitive action against employees with poor attendance, the release added.
