The Nagaland government today expressed concern over allegations, threats, counter-threats and attacks between different factions of political groups.

"Such developments are vitiating the atmosphere of peace and tranquillity that we have been enjoying for many years now," stated a release from the CMO today.

"Chief Minister T R Zeliang is deeply distressed to see such developments at a time when the entire Naga society is working relentlessly to bring about unity and reconciliation among Naga political groups," the release said.

The Chief Minister was also of the view that such activities were counterproductive and self-defeating and would serve to negate the political cause of the Nagas, it said.

Zeliang appealed to all Naga political groups to abstain from such harmful activities and extend the hand of friendship and reconciliation to each other, the release added.
