The Nagaland government today launched the second phase of National De-worming Day (NDD) for the current year, which aims to de-worm children and adults in the age group of 1-19 years.
Principal Director of Health and Family Welfare, Vikeyie Losu administered the first tablet to a student at a programme in Dr Neilhouzh Kire Government Higher Secondary School, Seikhazou here.
In his address, Losu said that worm infection can take a toll on one's health and therefore, it is important to maintain hygienic practices.
Stating that worm infection affects the physical growth and well-being, he encouraged children to take the de-worming tablets at least twice a year.
