Nagaland joined the rest of the world in observing the World AIDS Day with the pledge of zero death from AIDS-related illness and discrimination.

The main function was held at State Academy Hall Kohima yesterday with different NGOs and Health and Family Welfare Department joining hands in solidarity.

In his message, Director of Kripa Foundation, Nagaland, Abou Mere expressed that lack of political will and action from the state government was hampering HIV and AIDS programme in the state.

Project Director NSACS, Dr Meguosielie Kire encouraged every individual to come forward and get their HIV test done, because it was only through a test that a person could know his/her status.

Chairman of Kohima Village Council, Neivor Rutsa gracing the occasion as chief guest flagged off a cycle rally to create awareness amongst the people.
