Nagaraja assumes charge as President of JNCASR

Prof. V Nagaraja of the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) here today assumed charge as President of the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR) here.

The appointment of Nagaraja, Professor at the Microbiology and Cell Biology Department, IISc, was approved by the Union Cabinet, a JNCASR statement here said.

JNCASR is a multi-disciplinary research institute pursuing and promoting world-class research and training at the frontiers of Science and Engineering covering broad areas ranging from Materials to Genetics.

The Centre, funded by the Department of Science and Technology of the Union government, is a deemed university.
