Telugu star Nagarjuna has joined Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Swachh Bharat' movement.

The 55-year-old actor took to the street near Annapurna Studios here with a broom to carry out his commitment and cleaned garbage to keep the surroundings hygienic.

"This is not an act of one time event, it is a translation of my pledge to keep neighbourhood clean, create many more ambassadors and collaborate with like minded people across the region to expand and sustain #SwachhBharat movement," Nagarjuna said in a statement.

The 'Manam' star also unveiled a website, www.Nag4swachhbharat.org, to spread awareness and engage public participation and support.
 
The website will also use social media platforms and leverage Nagarjuna's online followers to create micro level ambassadors and create Swachh Bharat events.

Nagarjuna later nominated actors Sudeep, Allu Arjun and badminton champion Pullela Gopichand among others to participate in the campaign and spread awareness.
