Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today announced financial assistance of Rs 20 lakh to a girl who was orphaned in gruesome circumstances in Tadipatri of Anantapuramu district.

Naidu also promised to take care of the girl "as a father" and ensure her well being.

Lakshmi Prasanna was lucky to survive a gruesome attack by her father Ramasubba Reddy who had murdered his wife and two other daughters a couple of days ago. He committed suicide today.

"Only God saved Prasanna," Naidu said during his visit to Anantapuramu district.

The girl narrated the tragedy at a public meeting, leaving the audience in tears.

"Following the murders, I too thought of committing suicide but somehow gave up the thought," she said.

The chief minister also turned emotional on hearing her tale and assured that the government would take care of her education.

"We will keep a government job reserved for you. Now, we will deposit Rs 20 lakh in your name for a secure future," he announced.

"Don't get disheartened. I will take full care of you as a father," Naidu assured the girl.
