Telugu Desam Party President N Chandrababu Naidu today congratulated Telangana Rashtra Samiti chief K Chandrasekhar Rao over his party's victory in the Assembly elections in the new state of Telangana that will formally come into being on June 2.
TRS won 63 seats to clinch power in the 119-member Telangana Assembly.
Noting that the TDP-BJP combine won more seats in Telangana than the Congress, Naidu said people did not trust the ruling party despite its claims of granting statehood to the region.
The Congress, which tried to damage the TDP, fell in its own grave, the former Chief Minister said.
"The TDP's only wish is that all Telugu people be good wherever they are," Naidu added.
