Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu met Union Water Resources Minister Nitin Gadkari in Nagpur and thanked him for having agreed to release funds for expeditious completion of the Polavaram irrigation project.
Naidu met Gadkari at the latter's residence in Nagpur last night.
"The chief minister thanked the Union minister for having agreed to release required funds for expeditious completion of Polavaram irrigation project," a brief official communique said about the visit.

Naidu also requested Gadkari to take "more strong measures" to complete the project by 2019, it added.
After the meeting, Naidu left for a ten-day trip to three countries.
The multi-purpose irrigation project, which has been accorded national project status by the Centre, is coming across the Godavari river.
