The bureaucracy should "think fresh and act differently" for higher productivity, Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu today said while addressing about 100 senior officers from his three ministries.
Naidu holds the portfolios of Urban Development (UD), Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation (HUPA) and Information and Broadcasting.
He was speaking at a function at his residence organised on the occasion of the retirement of HUPA Secretary Nandita Chatterjee and the transfer of UD Secretary Rajiv Gauba to Home Affairs, and I&B Secretary Ajay Mittal to Personnel.

Naidu suggested that officials should "not be guided by the past" but should be "inspired by the future" of the country.
"The past shall only be a reference for drawing right lessons so as to meet the challenges of the future as the country is keen to discover and herald a new future," he said.
