Naidu to conclude his walkathon in Vizag tomorrow

TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu will conclude his over 200-day-old padyatra here tomorrow with a public meeting, party sources said.

TDP workers are busy making preparations for the public meeting at Andhra University Engineering College grounds which will be preceded by roadshows.

A�huge stage is being erected to accommodate dozens of leaders of the main Opposition party who will be addressing the gathering.

The former Chief Minister launched his foot march 'Vastunna Meekosam' (I am coming for you) from Hindupur in Anantapur district on October 2 last year to connect with the masses.

He will conclude the walkathon after covering 2,835 kms spread across 1,253 villages, five Municipal Corporations and 86 Assembly constituencies in 208 days.
 

Before addressing the rally, Naidu will unveil a big pylon put up near Aganampudi on the city's outskirts.

The Leader of Opposition will cover the final half a kilometre stretch of the foot march tomorrow before unveiling the pylon, the sources said.

Meanwhile, addressing the media here today,�senior TDP leader Nannapaneni Rajakumari said Naidu had undertaken the padyatra to connect with the people and know their problems.

He is also creating awareness about "anti-people" policies being pursued in Andhra Pradesh by the Congress government, she said.
