Nalanda District Sub-Registrar and clerk held on graft charge

The Vigilance department today arrested Nalanda district sub-registrar Neeraj Kumar Sinha and a clerk Jitendra Kumar Sinha on graft charge.

A Vigilance Investigation Bureau (VIB) team headed by M K Kumar laid a trap and nabbed them from the district sub-registrar's cell in the Registration Office as soon as they took Rs 15,000 as bribe from the complainant, an official release said.

The department acted on the basis of a complaint filed by one Rakesh Kumar, a resident of Patna.

The district sub-registrar had demanded Rs 20,000 for registration of a property and agreed to do the work on payment of Rs 15,000 as bribe, it said.
 

The Vigilance department has laid 48 traps and arrested 51 government servants on graft charge till mid-July this year.
