The 92-year-old Satguru passed away at a private hospital here yesterday.
A number of his followers, including women and children, attended the funeral service at Bhaini Sahib, also the main headquarters of the Namdhari sect.
Punjab Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal, who too was present at the funeral, paid rich tributes to the Satguru, saying: "the nation has lost a great religious personality".
Several religious leaders, cabinet Ministers, Congress leaders also attended the funeral.
Elaborate security arrangements had been made under the supervision of Commissioner of Police (Ludhiana) Ishwar Singh.
