Like in the case of IPL where BCCI President N Srinivasan is the owner of IPL's Chennai franchisee, the team from Nandininagar is owned by WFI President Brij Bhusan Saran Singh.

"Nandininagar has hosted a few National Championships and the craze and popularity of Wrestling even in such state oriented National meet is overwhelming," he said.

"UP Tiger would be the name of our Franchisee," he said.

Welcoming the team IWL Chairman GS Mander said, "Both WFI and LSM are happy that a team from one of the most wrestling crazy centres has joined the IWL."

Earlier, Jindal Steel Work (JSW), headed by Sajjan Jindal, was one of the few others who have confirmed their participation earlier in this six franchisee-owned league.
