Naomi Watts inspired by tsunami surviver Maria Belon

The talented actress says she considers Belon the true inspiration of her life.

"I am extremely thankful to Maria for being with me throughout the film. She has always been there to help me with every small detail. She was so expressive that it touched my heart. The level of courage she showed in those three days is extraordinary and something that inspires. We spoke for hours and connected very well. She is in my life forever now and I am affected by her courage for life," Watts said.

"I usually don't make such claims, but Maria has actually left a profound impact on my life. She's inspired me and reminded me that you just live in the moment."

 

'The Impossible' is a true story of a Spanish family who had just begun started enjoying their winter vacation in Thailand when an unexpected tsunami threatened to destroy the entire region on the unforgettable day of December 26, 2004.

Directed by J A Bayona, the film also stars Ewan McGregor and Tom Holland. PVR Pictures is releasing the film in India on January 4, 2013.
