The 44-year-old actress, who has more than two decade long career in showbiz, says she struggles with nerves and often tries to back out of jobs over fears she might not put in a good performance, reported Daily Express.
"I'm always nervous in the lead-up. The anticipation of a project... I'm always trying to pull out of it. Right up until (the last minute)... Trying to get them to re-cast...
"I'm always calling the director and saying, 'I don't think I can do it. There's got to be someone else who is more right for this.' I know myself well enough now to know that it's just my habit and it's my process," she said.
Watts said there were two films which frightened her the most, David Lynch's 2001 thriller "Mulholland Drive", the role which launched her Hollywood career, and "21 Grams", which earned her an Oscar nomination.
"Mulholland Drive completely terrified me. Working with David Lynch. And then one of the greatest fears was going into 21 Grams with Sean Penn and Benicio del Toro. I was just freaking out."
