Senior Congress leader and former Union Minister of State in PMO V.Narayanasamy today lambasted the Rangasamy-led AINRC government here for "failing the people in the Union Territory on several counts," and asked the party cadre to work in unison to strengthen the organisation.

Addressing a meeting of the executive committee of the PCC here, Narayanasamy said the Lok Sabha polls should be taken as an eye opener and the party cadres should put in united work to strengthen the organisation.

"Our party should be strengthened in such a manner that it should stand on its own in the future," he said.

Narayanasamy was defeated in the Lok Sabha polls by ruling AINRC nominee and former Puducherry Speaker R.Radhakrishnan.

Several developmental projects sanctioned with copious funds in the previous UPA rule for Puducherry were not taken up by the Union Territory administration, he charged.

He asked the cadres to mobilise people's support to bring to focus the 'failure' of Puducherry government.

Flaying the government,he alleged that the free rice scheme, envisaging supply of ten kg rice to each family every month through ration shops, was not implemented properly.

He claimed that as there was no proper industrial policy on the part of the government there was no industrial development here.

PCC leader A V Subramanian presided.
