Narayanasamy's wife injured in road mishap

Union Minister V Narayanasamy's wife was injured today when a two-wheeler on which she was riding pillion was hit by an autorickshaw near here, police said.

She has been admitted to JIPMER hospital here, they said.

Police said Kalai Selvi (52) was riding pillion when the two-wheeler driven by her relative was rammed by the autorickshaw on Puducherry-Gorimedu route. She fell down and sustained injuries in the head while the relative, a 25-year-old man, escaped unhurt.

Sources close to the Minister of State in Prime Minister Office told PTI that his wife was recovering fast and it was only a minor injury she sustained.
 

The auto driver was arrested and a case had been registered against him, police said.

Lt Governor Iqbal Singh, Chief Minister N Rangasamy, Puducherry Assembly Speaker V Sabapathy and a host of legislators visited her.

Narayanasamy, Minister of State in the PMO, rushed from Delhi to the hospital on hearing about the mishap and met his wife.

"Kalai Selvi is recovering fast and she has only a minor injury in the head," an official said.
