TV series "Narcos" has lost its showrunner in the wake of wrapping season two.

"The Walking Dead" star Adam Fierro was hired by Netflix to oversee the drug drama's second run, but he is no longer with the series.

According to TheWrap, Netflix has explained that Fierro's departure simply coincided with his work on the upcoming season being finished rather than anything acrimonious occurring.

"Narcos" was picked up for a second season on September, just a week after the series premiered in full on Netflix.

The Jose Padilha-directed series chronicles the rise and fall of Pablo Escobar and his infamous Medellin Cartel in the 1980s.

Padilha remains on board the Netflix series along with Eric Newman, both as executive producers.

Earlier in December, Netflix claimed that "Narcos" is actually more popular than "Game of Thrones" on a worldwide basis because of its popularity in the non-English speaking world.
