Uttar Pradesh Police arrested two persons from different parts of Barabanki district and seized narcotics worth Rs 1.70 crore in the international market.
Special Task Force (STF) of UP police, in a joint operation with the narcotics department last night, arrested an alleged smuggler Mohammad Naushad alias Tannu outside the Barabanki railway station.
He was found to be carrying 1,200 grams of morphine worth Rs 1.20 cr in the international market, police said.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, UP police arrested an alleged smuggler with narcotics worth Rs 50 lakh in the international market from Jaidpur area of the district.
Ram Mail, a native of Haryana, was arrested last night by a police team which was patrolling on Haidergarh road.
According to the police, the accused was carrying about half kg morphine.
