Narcotics worth Rs 90 crore seized from Pak border

Narcotic drugs with an estimated value of Rs 90 crore were today seized from along the Indo-Pak border in Punjab's Ferozepur district by a patrol squad of the Border Security Force (BSF).

The seizure from the Khemkaran area also included a packet containing fake Indian currency notes with a face value of Rs 4.87 lakh, the BSF said in a statement.

A patrol squad of the border guarding force detected some suspicious movement along the International Border and found the drugs lying there.

"On searching the area near the fence, the (patrol) party recovered 18 packets of heroin worth Rs 90 crore and one packet of FICN (containing 1000 X 487 denomination) worth Rs 4.87 lakh from the spot," the force said.
