Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi hogged the limelight at the BJP's 33th foundation day celebrations here with a number of senior leaders indirectly favouring his projection as the party's prime ministerial candidate in the next general elections.
Known for his pro-Modi stance, senior BJP leader C P Thakur cheered the mood of party workers by backing the Gujarat CM's candidature indirectly saying "The country needs a strong PM."
Apparently referring to Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi, he said "Some people say what can a lone person do ... But I think one person can do everything if such a person is the prime minister.

Referring to Lord Rama and Lord Krisha, Thakur, said that there were many instances in history that one person made radical changes.
"Even now one person can do a lot and shape the destiny of the country and its people," he said.
BJP MP and cinestar Shatrughan Sinha supported Thakur's remarks and attacked political adversaries of the Gujarat chief minister within the NDA and outside and said that some people had problems with one person.
"But we have Namo (Narendra Modi) and SuMO (Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi) among a number of top leaders in the BJP," he said.
Stating that the BJP and NDA governments ushered in good governance wherever they ruled, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the main opposition alliance was bound to come to power in next general elections and a BJP leader would definitely be the next prime minister.
