Former Maldivian President Mohammed Nasheed has met President Waheed Hassan in the backdrop of the suspension of second round of presidential polls by the Supreme Court, their first meeting since the controversial transfer of power last year.
Nasheed reached the official residence of the President in the evening yesterday and left after spending 15 minutes with Waheed, Minivan News reported.
Nasheed, 46, who won the first multi-party elections here in 2008 was ousted from power on February 7, 2012, in a move which he termed as coup. He was succeed by his then vice-president Waheed.

Nasheed, the Maldivian Democratic Party leader, did not speak to the media about his meeting with Waheed.
Later, the party issued a statement saying Nasheed had expressed his concern at the suspension of the second round of polls by the Supreme Court, the report said.
Earlier, Waheed had expressed his desire for a smooth transfer of power while warning the external forces to stop interference in the matter.
Nasheed, who led the first round of polls held on September 7 with over 45 per cent votes, has to face Abdullah Yameen, the Progressive Party of Maldives candidate, in the second round of polls.
The second round of the Presidential run-off between Nasheed and Yameen had to take place on September 28 but it was indefinitely postponed by the Supreme Court which is hearing allegations of irregularity in the polls.
