Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa today announced a bouquet of industries, including National Investment and Manufacturing Zone of Rs 6,525 crore, to be set up across the state that are likely to attract maximum investment and employ thousands of workers.
Making a suo motu statement in the Assembly, she said the Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO) would set up NIMZ at a cost of Rs 6,525 crore at Ramanathapuram and Thiruvadanai taluks in Ramanathapuram districts.
"Not only will the detailed project report for this project be prepared and sent to the Centre within this year, but works towards commencing the project would start soon," she said.

TIDCO would set up a medical park, along with HLL Lifecare Limited, a governmnent of India enterprise, in a bid to make Tamil Nadu the epicentre of medical equipment production centre in India and boost medical technology in the country, she said.
The facility would come up in over 330 acres in Chengalpet in Kanchipuram district at a cost of Rs 130 crore. The centre would have medical equipment, biotechnology and an information centre for biotechnology.
Of 100 industries which would come up here, 30 would be allotted to big and medium industries. Over 3,000 persons would be benefitted directly and over 5,000 indirectly, the Chief Minister said.
