Hollywood actress Natalie Portman is considering applying for French citizenship as she prepares to move to Paris with her husband and young son.

The "Black Swan" star's husband Benjamin Millepied has accepted a job with the Paris Opera Ballet and the family will move to the French capital next year, reported Contactmusic.

Portman reveals she is already house-hunting and is even considering becoming a French citizen to complete her move to Europe.

"We're looking for an apartment. Benjamin and I are moving in autumn 2014 when his job at the Paris Opera Ballet starts.

It's obviously a massive change to quit Los Angeles for Paris. I don't know what my life is going to be like, but I'm so excited. I don't have the French nationality, but I would belove to get it.

"But I don't know if it's possible because I already have an American and an Israeli passport... Perhaps I should add an 'h' to my name to make it sound more French - Nathalie," she said.

The couple met on the set of Portman's Oscar-winning film "Black Swan". They married in August, 2012, three months after their son, Alef, was born.
