The 1,500-MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro power station of Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN) has achieved highest ever power generation of 1,191.217 million units of electricity against the MoU target of 1,083 MU in July 2014.
The earlier highest record was 1,186.5 MU achieved during July, 2012.
During July, 2014 the power station operated at over 1,600 MW during all the 31 days of the month against the installed capacity of 1,500 MW.

During the month, the highest generation achieved was on July 8 at 38.941 MU against the installed capacity of 36 MU.
The Plant Availability Factor (PAF) achieved during the month was 108.3 per cent.
During the 4 month period i.E. April 1, 2014 to July 31, 2014, the power station has already generated 3352 million units of electricity.
In terms of the MoU for the year the power station is targeted to generate 6,900 MU during 2014-15.
During the financial 2013 - 14 the power station had generated 7,193 MU of electricity against the design energy of 6,612 MU.
The generation achieved last year was the second highest record established by the power station, while the highest generation achieved was 7,610 MU in 2011-12.
The power station has already completed 10 years of commercial operation in May, 2014 after commencing full commercial generation in May, 2004.
The power station is supplying valuable power to the nine northern grid states namely Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Chandigarh and Delhi.
